Stage 1 melanoma
Stage 1 melanoma is divided into two parts:
- Stage 1A : the tumor is 1 mm thick or less, and is not ulcerated
- Stage 1B : the tumor is 1 mm thick or less and is ulcerated, or it is between 1 and 2 mm thick and not ulcerated
In stage 1 there is no sign that the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes or to other parts of the body.
