ASCI: a potential for a better tolerability
When ASCI targets antigens that are only found on cancer cells, it is expected that the treatment traces and destroys only cancer cells – leaving normal healthy cells untouched.
For this reason it is hoped that patients treated with ASCI may have relatively few side effects. This will be confirmed in clinical trials.
A large worldwide clinical study commencing 2008 will test how well ASCI treatment works in one type of lung cancer and the level of side effects it may cause.
