Cancer immunotherapy is a potential new type of cancer treatment that teaches your own immune system to fight and destroy cancer cells. One type of cancer immunotherapy is called ASCI*. ASCI* is being developed by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) as a potential new treatment for certain types of lung cancer. It is currently being tested in a large clinical trial involving thousands of lung cancer patients, called the MAGRIT study. Clinical trials are carefully controlled studies carried out to see whether new treatments are effective and safe.
Use the menu at the bottom of the page to take you to the section of the site you are interested in. You can learn more about cancer and how it is treated. Or you can find out more about cancer immunotherapy and ASCI*. To learn more about lung cancer, including the types and stages of lung cancer, go to Lung cancer and ASCI. This section also tells you how ASCI could potentially be used to treat lung cancer.
If you have lung cancer you may be interested in taking part in the MAGRIT study.
